Cook Start Wales is a food education project which has been designed to empower all age groups and abilities via means of a series of creative activities. It is supported widely by professionals working in education, health, media and government agencies such as the Agri-Food Partnership. The project not only looks at food as nourishment, but also the procurement of ingredients from land and sea. It demonstrates the importance of understanding food in both local and global terms, and the impact on surrounding environments.
Cook Start also promotes food culture in Wales and raises the profile of food related careers.
Angela Gray is actively lobbying the project to the Welsh Assembly Government with the aim of securing funding to develop Cook Start into a toolkit.
